Monday: As most everybody knows who is reading this blog, I am a diehard Red Sox fan. It was a gift my dad gave to me when I was born in Connecticut. In 1986, when I was six years old, I ripped my great collection of Red Sox baseball cards to shreds. While in tears, I was shredding those cards because Bill Buckner let the ball go between his legs. Of course, I recovered from that disappointment and in 2004, found myself in tears again (this time of joy) when they won the World Series. So, you can imagine my excitement when it became certain that the Red Sox would play the Rockies, my hometown team, in the World Series!
On Monday morning, at 10 am, Rockies World Series tickets on sale over the internet. Many friends and relatives were attempting to purchase tickets online (and had promised me ticket if they were successful). Unfortunately the Rockies ticket system went down, so no one got tickets that day. I was really disappointed when they announced tickets would go on sale again Tuesday @ noon. I had a lunch meeting I couldn't get out of! So I had to rely on everybody else to get tickets for me.

Tuesday: Since Rockies tickets went on sale online, I called in re-enforcements. I had relatives and friends all over the country trying to get me tickets. While at lunch, I could feel my phone buzz numerous times. After lunch I checked my messages. Message 1: "Hey Jamie, it's your dad. What a stupid system. No tickets here." Message 2: "Jamie, Erin here no tickets, I hope someone had good luck. Go Sox." On they went like this until I got to my last message... "Hi Jamie, it's Karen (my mother-in-law). I am in the process of purchasing four rock pile tickets. Give me a call when you get a chance!" Jack Pot! I was so excited! Everybody at the lunch was checking their messages and no one talked to anybody that go tickets. When I got back to the office I was the only one of everybody there. Then I called Karen back. She sounded beat down and so sad. "Jamie I don't know what happened. I entered my credit card information and the system just booted me out!" We were both in shock. Of course it was impossible to get hold of the Rockies and check if our tickets were still there. We sent emails, letters, and left messages- but never a peep from the Rockies. While I was very disappointed I wouldn't make it to any games, I was glad that I now had someone to cheer for the Red Sox with me in Colorado - my Mother-in-law! Plus, as Manny Ramirez says, "It's not the end of the world, man."
Wednesday:
Wednesday... the Sox take game 1. And more goods news: We had Olivia's two month appointment and her first shots. Before the shots came the good news! Olivia is gaining a lot of weight, which means she is eating just right!

Weight: 11 pounds 13 ounces (75%) Height: 21 inches (25%).
The shots also went pretty well. She cried as they were going in, but was back asleep within 10 minutes. We planned on having family pumpkin carving that night, but Olivia really wanted to sleep and when she was awake, she definitely didn't want her picture taken. Moose, on the other hand, would put up with anything as long as he was allowed to eat pumpkin guts!

Thursday: Sox take game 2! And the stereotypical father daughter picture:

Saturday: While helping a friend move, someone there mentioned to me that he heard if you called the Rockies ticket number there still might be some tickets available. Of course I planned on doing this! Once I got home, I called the number and was put on hold. We planned on spending the weekend in Colorado Springs to celebrate Adriane's birthday and Halloween. I put the phone on speaker and packed the car. My phone remained on hold for an hour and a half and in the middle of our drive to Colorado Springs, I heard a voice "Hello Colorado Rockies." I picked the phone up and asked about tickets for Sunday's game. He found some that were in my price range! I gave him all my information and right as he was getting ready to give me my confirmation number, my cell phone disconnected him. Adriane heard me give him my phone number and she reassured me, "He will call back." 20 minutes went by with no call back! I couldn't believe it happened to me again! When we arrived in Colorado Springs, the only thing I could think to do was call again. So I sat on hold for almost 2 hours! When I finally got through my Sunday tickets were still there waiting for me!
Oh yeah: The Sox take game 3!
Since we were in Colorado Springs we tried the pumpkin carving thing with Olivia again. She didn't really get into the pumpkins but didn't mind the pictures:

Sunday: So here I am an hour before I head to Coors Field. It is going to be a wild night. I am going to the game with a friend from work. We both need to be in Grand Island, Nebraska by 8 am Monday Morning. We will drive through the night right after the game and hopefully have time to freshen up before we meet the client! I warned my friend if the Red Sox win, we need to stay for the celebration (he is a Rockies fan)! Sometime this week I will post some pictures from the game and hopefully the celebration.

Jamie,
Dad and I werw so excited that you were at the game for the big win! I told your Dad I can now forgive him for making you a Sox fan! I'll never forget the night you ripped up all your Sox base ball cards. I could have killed your Dad for sharing the curse with you! Have a great week. Pictures of Olivia are awesome!
Love, Mom
Happy Birthday Adriane! What a beautiful mom with one of the cutest babies ever (her stats are the reverse of Laine's, by the way, which is hilarious to me). I know I keep saying it, but I seriously can't wait to meet her.
Jamie, I'm glad you got to see the big game!
Wow! What a week! Olivia you will always know what it is like to love a winning team! I can't wait to squeeze you and kiss you!!
